Hey People and Poppa's!

  I really want to thank all of you for searching me out! It really means a lot to me! I enjoy giving you updates on my step-dad and former confidant, Pete! He appreciates your warm comments and thoughts. He and I talk almost every day. Some of you have caught him loafing in my new location. Perhaps he just can't get away from the barbershop talk. He thanks everyone for their thoughts about him. 

  For those that are just now following my website, I am now located at 6625 Gateway Avenue. I'm just over the south bridge in the Gulf Gate Business district east of Sarasota Pavilion. I still have the same phone number 941-346-0222. Give me a call! I am right next to Koen Jewelry. 

  For those of you that are unfamiliar with the barbershop that I'm working at, here's the background. 

The name of it is "The Shop SRQ". It is owned by a married couple by the name of Erick and Dawn. Both of them are former military and good barbers. (Don't worry. They won't give you a G.I. haircut. They're very good about communication with their customers.) For the short six months that I have worked there, we have established a solid bond. Erick and I both grew up in Sarasota. We have walked very similar paths. I'm surprised we haven't met before. After many conversations, we have a lot of the same history. Our circles of life look like the Olympic Rings having never met until six months ago. It's a great relationship!  

  In part, my new address is 6625 Gateway Avenue. I'm located just over the south bridge, (the Stickney Point Bridge), turn right (south) on U.S 41 (Tamiami Trail), take your first left (east) on Gulf Gate Drive and turn Left at the next stop light. That is Gateway Avenue. We are the first unit on the right side of the street after the old self service car wash that is no longer in business. If you see Koen Jewels, we are right next door.

Holiday schedule!

Scott the Barber's Holiday Schedule

Thursday 8:10 - 1:00
Friday  (Christmas Day) through Monday closed
Tuesday regular hours 8:30 - 4:30

The following weekend for New Years Eve will be the same. This opportunity to take this time only happens once in 7 years. For those that get in for a haircut will say, "Good for you!".  Those that dont, I apologize for the inconvenience .

  Unfortunately I will be taking a short day on Wednesday. I will leave  the shop at 1:00pm and return the following morning at 8:30am. I apologize for any inconvenience. Sometimes, things need to get "Did".

Friday the 13th

To my favorite customers!

I will not be in on Friday the 13th of November. I will return to work the following day from 8:30-1:00. I apologize for any inconvenience.  The following week will be regular hours Tuesday thru Friday 8:30-4:30 and Saturday 8:30-1:00. Thank you for your understanding!

Here comes "The Season"!!!

  With the winter season upon us, I would like everyone to know that business slows down around 1:00-2:00pm. My guess is that its nap time or maybe people are doing a late lunch. I have preached this for 20 years and still, nobody keeps it in mind. That is the slowest time of the day. When you come to Gulf Gate (6625 Gateway Avenue), I can inform you on the many tasty places to eat in the G.G area! I have your cheeseburger hook up!  New knowledge is good knowledge. The ShopSRQ is located right next to Koen Jewelers. Maybe not a good idea to bring your wife. Please come see me and tell your friends, tell your neighbors that Scott the Barber has relocated to the Gulf Gate area in the business district behind Publix, Stein Mart, Ross, and Bed Bath and Beyond. That maybe the place to drop the wife off while you get trimmed up so you can represent her properly. The ShopSRQ is on on the very end of the plaza next to an old self service car wash that is out of business.

P.S. Pete is doing well with retirement and all I can say is Pete's Pete! He hasn't changed a bit. Still has a sparkle in his eye and a bounce in his step! Love My Step Dad!!!
